How Ofixu Secured an Underused London Office for OnSphere

Matching a growing energy trading technology company with a flexible Southwark workspace — and unlocking dormant office capacity in the process.

OnSphere at a Glance

OnSphere (trading as Sphere) is an energy trading technology company headquartered in London. Their flagship product, the Sphere platform, is the all-in-one trading platform for oil brokers and traders — aggregating live prices from voice and chat into a single screen for on-screen trading.

They call it the "Liquidity Lake" — the world's first aggregation of all actionable liquidity across OTC oil markets, covering LPG, North American Crude, LNG, and fragmented energy markets. Sphere is trusted by major global players including EDF, Gunvor, Mercuria, Equinor, TP ICAP, and Glencore.

Founded on the principle that traders and brokers have long been hampered by unseen liquidity, Sphere brings transparency and speed to energy commodity markets.

The Brief

OnSphere was looking for a well-located London office that could support its current team while also allowing for future growth. The requirement was not simply to find any available office — the space needed to work operationally from day one, offer the right level of flexibility, and still provide room for expansion without forcing the business into an oversized or overly expensive long-term commitment.

At the same time, the opportunity involved an office that was not being fully utilised — exactly the type of space Ofixu is built to unlock.

The Challenge

This was not a straightforward search-and-send exercise. As discussions progressed, several practical and legal points needed to be addressed before completion:

  • Confirming the maximum desk capacity of the floor
  • Ensuring the layout could support future headcount growth
  • Clarifying points within the licence agreement
  • Working through access, common facilities, signage and documentation
  • Keeping momentum between all parties to avoid delay
  • Confirming whether the office could accommodate up to 30 desks if needed

Ofixu's Role

Ofixu acted as the bridge between occupier and operator, managing the process from negotiation through to completion.

Identify & Introduce

Identifying the underused office opportunity and making the introduction to OnSphere, matching a growing business with dormant capacity.

Navigate & Negotiate

Progressing commercial and legal conversations, pushing through licence clarifications, and coordinating directly with the landlord-side team.

Resolve & Complete

Ensuring the agreement could move to DocuSign without friction, and helping the client get comfort around layout, density, and long-term suitability.

The Solution

The office ultimately proved to be a strong fit for OnSphere's needs. The operator confirmed that the floor could achieve 30 fixed desks using a high-density layout with smaller desks, while 28 fixed workstations could still be achieved while retaining a large phone booth in place.

Additional ad hoc working points were also available through high tables and breakfast bar seating. This gave OnSphere something important — immediate usability with credible room for growth.

Rather than taking on conventional space with more risk and rigidity, OnSphere secured a flexible office solution in a prime London location, with a clear understanding of how the space could evolve alongside the business.

Why This Matters

This deal reflects what Ofixu does best. We help businesses secure workspace that genuinely works for them, while also unlocking value from offices that may otherwise sit underused or under-monetised.

In this case, that meant helping OnSphere secure a Southwark office with flexibility, growth potential, and the right commercial setup — while ensuring the space provider converted dormant capacity into a live occupier.

"Too many office transactions still focus only on square footage and headline rent. What businesses actually need is confidence — confidence that the space works operationally, contractually, and commercially. That is where Ofixu adds value. We do not just send options. We help get the right deal over the line."
